Who we are
Africa Democracy and Governance (ADG or #AfricaDemocracy) is a regional nonprofit organisation working to advance active citizen participation in democratic governance and strengthen ethical leadership in Africa.
Our mission
To strengthen democracy and governance in Africa through evidence, civic participation, leadership preparation, public accountability, diaspora engagement, African integration and accessible knowledge.
Our vision
An Africa in which citizens participate meaningfully, leaders govern ethically, institutions are accountable, and democracy improves everyday life.
Our approach
ADG does not treat democracy as an imported script. We create space for African people to interrogate, shape and practise democratic governance through the principles of Inclusivity, Afrocentricity and Ubuntu.
